Skanlika‘s project manager Vaida Pociute-Borteliene participated in 12th Annual Traditional Charity Event, Burns Night 2011, to celebrate the birthday of the Scottish national poet, Robert Burns (1759 – 1796) and to raise funds to two Lithuanian charities.

The event was organised by the British Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania. Burns Night 2011 traditionally held in Vilnius City Hall (Vilniaus Rotušė) and hosted over 220 guests from different countries including, of course, Scotland, England and Lithuania.

On June 7th-8th „Skanlika“ represnetatives paticipated in a Business Scope Mission to Scotlant, organized by the British Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania, Ūkio Bankas, Scottish Chambers International and Cormack Consultancy Baltic (CCB).
The purpose of the mission was to get acquanited with business opportunities in Scotland and to explore possibilities of future cooperation between Lithuanian and Scottish businesses. The two day event featured seminars on region‘s economics, market and business opportunities for Lithuanian companies followed by a presentation on Lithuanian economic climate for Scottish representatives. The lecturers included Mr. Charles Cormack of CCB, Mr. David Hughes of Saffery Champness, Mr. Roge Horam of The Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ross Clark of Scottish Chambers International and Mr. Chris Butler, Chairmen of BCC Lithuania. In addition to presentations, Lithuanian enterpreneurs participated in networking luncheon and individual meetings with local companies. The mission concluded with a visit to the Scottish Parliament and an audience with Mr. Jeremy Purves, MSP, Liberal Democrats.
